Can you get dental implants with bone loss?

Yes — this is our everyday work

Before After

Severe bone loss rarely means implants are impossible. It means conventional screw-type implants may not have enough bone to hold on to: what changes is the technique, not the outcome. In Valencia and Gandía we treat patients who were told “no” somewhere else — and who today have fixed teeth.

What are subperiosteal implants? Fixed teeth without bone grafting

Subperiosteal implants are a custom-made titanium structure that sits on top of the bone, under the gum. It adapts to the shape of your bone and holds the prosthesis with your teeth.

That is why they are also known as screwless dental implants.

Because nothing is drilled into the bone, this is the technique of choice when there is not enough bone left to anchor any other type of implant.

01

No drilling into the bone

It rests on top of it, under the gum, fitted to its shape like a made-to-measure frame.

02

Made only for you

Designed on a digital reconstruction of your jaw: no two are alike.

03

The teeth go on top

The prosthesis is fixed to the titanium structure, not into the bone.

Visiting from abroad? Your smile is fixed in 12 hours

Before you travel

Write to us on WhatsApp and tell us about your case. We will answer your questions and help you plan your first visit, so you know what to expect before booking anything.

One visit, fixed teeth

You arrive in the morning and, within 12 hours, you leave with fixed provisional teeth. No removable denture at any point.

Your definitive teeth

Made in our own dental laboratory and fitted in a second short visit a few months later, once your bone has healed. We organise the schedule around your trips.

Two clinics, one coast

Valencia city and the centre of Gandía, serving the whole coast: Oliva, Tavernes, Xeraco and the rest of La Safor. English-speaking care.

El Dr. Hernán Correa, implantólogo, en el gabinete

Dr. Hernán Correa, implant surgeon

Thirty years of implantology and oral surgery, with a particular focus on complex cases: severe bone loss, full rehabilitations and treatments that did not work out elsewhere. Registration no. 28009732.

The cases other clinics refer on or turn down are his daily practice, including the subperiosteal technique, which very few surgeons perform in the Valencia region.

He performs every surgery personally, in Valencia and in Gandía. No treatment is passed to another centre or an external surgeon.

Two clinics, the same surgeon

Visit whichever suits you best. Dr. Correa operates personally at both clinics, and your whole treatment can take place at either one: in the city of Valencia or in the centre of Gandía, close to the coast and La Safor.

Questions patients ask us

I was told I don’t have enough bone. Can you treat me?
That is the most common reason patients come to us. With the subperiosteal technique, bone volume is no longer the limit, because the structure rests on the bone instead of inside it. The answer for your case comes from a 3D CT scan, free of obligation.
How much bone do you need for implants?
For conventional implants, roughly 7 mm of width and enough height to keep a safe distance from nerves and sinuses. If you do not have that, you are exactly who the subperiosteal technique was designed for.
How long does the treatment take?
You have fixed provisional teeth within 12 hours of your surgery. The definitive prosthesis, made in our own dental laboratory, completes the treatment in around five to seven months.
Do you speak English at the clinic?
redactar según quién atiende y en qué sedes
How much do dental implants cost in Spain?
It depends on the technique and your case, so beware of any price given without seeing a scan. After your first visit you receive a written, itemised quote: what is included, what is not, with financing available.
I am a senior and I have diabetes. Can I still get implants?
Age by itself is not an obstacle; many of our patients are over 65. Controlled diabetes is usually compatible with treatment. What matters is your overall health, which we review together at the first visit.
Do implants prevent bone loss?
Yes. A missing tooth lets the bone shrink, because it no longer receives stimulation. Implants restore that stimulus, which is one more reason not to wait.
